Hand throwing is the oldest method of ceramic forming and it is still extensively used in the field of artistic ceramics. It is constituted of a rotating wheel on which the body is centred and formed with hand or simple hand tools.
This wheel is mechanically rotated, easily controlled with a foot pedal. A spray tray can be added to catch the sprayed water and slurry from the wheel.
